Their tagline is “Trust your plumber.” And Hudson Plumbing is traveling like a straight-line wind to earn the trust of each and every customer. You can step into their new showroom at 435 W. Morgan St. and see for yourself what a hub of activity it is. How did they wind up in Martinsville?

Dean Hudson married his high school sweetheart, Tish, in 1989. Right after graduation Dean went to work as a plumber’s apprentice to learn the plumbing trade and hone his business skills. Three years later he and Tish started their own plumbing business, Hudson Plumbing, in their garage. By this time Dean had become a licensed plumber and the role of accountant and office manager was placed in the capable hands of Tish. Not long after, the company outgrew the garage and moved into a building behind Dairyland in Eminence.
Fast forward to April 2014 and Hudson Plumbing moved to their location on the bypass in Martinsville and quickly began to establish themselves as expert plumbers. Almost immediately Dean and Tish knew that they would soon outgrow that site. They realized it was time to start looking around for a new place and began the search at the end of 2018.
Serendipitously, the Hudson’s bumped into the previous owner of their present building on the very day that he had decided to sell it. Not long after that Dean and Tish embarked on the task of remodeling and renovating and on October 15, 2019, they moved Hudson Plumbing to its present address.

Hudson Plumbing is full-service and employs licensed plumbers offering tub, shower, faucet and toilet replacement, drain cleaning, sump pumps, gas line repair, water softeners, water heaters. The list goes on and also includes emergency and after-hours services, both residential and commercial. They now have 15 employees and run seven vehicles day-to-day. One of those employees is their son, Keaton, who is the lead excavator and will be graduating as a plumbing journeyman this spring. This means they can even do the outside labor required for your project. Elliott, their son-in-law joined the company after serving 4 years in the Air Force and earning his bachelor’s degree in digital media. Elliott manages the marketing efforts and is currently enrolled in graduate school studying media analytics.

These days there is a lot of excitement at Hudson Plumbing. Drum roll, please! This spring they will be unveiling their brand-new premier showroom. Martinsville hasn’t seen anything like this. As Dean says, “We will take the time and talk and explain and you know, really care. We’re not so dogmatic in our procedures that we don’t realize that it’s another person on the other side with a problem. And so, we want to take care of it as quickly as possible. I don’t believe that you’re going to call anybody that cares as much as we do.”
