Easter is just around the corner! That means family dinners, egg hunts, and guests coming over to celebrate. While you’re busy decorating and planning the perfect meal, don’t forget about something very important—your plumbing.
At Hudson Plumbing, we know that hosting guests can put a lot of pressure on your home’s pipes. The last thing you want during the holiday is a clogged toilet, a backed-up sink, or a cold shower. Let’s make sure your plumbing is ready for Easter weekend!

1. Watch What Goes Down the Drain
If you’re cooking a big Easter meal, your kitchen sink might see more action than usual. Be careful not to pour grease, oil, or food scraps down the drain. These things can harden and clog your pipes. Instead, throw food waste in the trash or compost it.
Also, make sure your garbage disposal isn’t being overloaded. Avoid putting eggshells, coffee grounds, and starchy foods like potatoes down there. Your disposal might not be able to handle it, and you could end up with a messy clog.
2. Give Your Bathroom Some Love
With guests in the house, your bathroom will be used more often. That’s why it’s a good idea to check your toilets and sinks before the big day.
Is your toilet flushing slowly or making strange noises? Does the sink drain slowly? These could be signs of small problems that may get worse with extra use. Taking care of them now can help you avoid an embarrassing situation later.
Also, remind guests (especially kids!) that only toilet paper should go in the toilet—no wipes, paper towels, or other items.
3. Hot Water for All
Nothing says “Welcome” like a warm shower. If your water heater is older or hasn’t been serviced in a while, it might struggle to keep up with the extra demand. You don’t want someone getting stuck with a cold rinse!
Consider turning up the water heater slightly (but no more than 120°F), or give us a call to do a quick inspection. We’ll make sure everything’s running smoothly.
4. Be Ready for the Unexpected
Even if everything seems fine, plumbing problems can pop up at the worst times. That’s why Hudson Plumbing is always HERE FOR YOU. Whether it’s a clogged drain, a leaky faucet, or an emergency repair, our team is ready to help—day or night.
5. Schedule a Pre-Holiday CheckupWant extra peace of mind before your guests arrive? Call us to schedule a quick plumbing check. We’ll look over your system and fix any small issues before they become big problems.
